Why commercial real estate?

I had worked in the trucking industry as a salesman for years. I needed a change and new challenge. I wanted to get out of the trucking industry and loved the idea of the flexibility and freedom a commercial broker has, the relationship building, and selling BIG things.


Tips or advice for someone starting out in a similar position?

You can’t be afraid to ask questions. Navigating a new career path can be confusing and frustrating. Finding a mentor to help you through your first deal in commercial real estate is important. It’s okay to be frustrated, that’s part of life, but don’t let it scare you away from trying new things. We all need help and guidance sometimes!


Hobbies and interests?

I enjoy hiking, fishing, and pickleball. I especially like playing pickleball with some of the other brokers here!


Motto or personal mantra?

I know a lot of people say 'life is short,' but it’s true and important! Life is short, it’s too short to waste on things that don’t matter. Do not work your life away and spend time worrying, focus on all the simple blessings that surround us every day.


What makes you different as a broker?

I struggle with sitting in my office all day, I enjoy being out in the field meeting and networking with people. Somedays I will actually drive to people’s houses or offices and check in on them. Instead of cold calling and emailing. I really try to be more personal.


What does success look like to you?

I think success is making a positive impact on the world. I believe the most important thing is investing in community and people and building relationships. I will feel successful if someone can say, “Chris had a positive impact on me.” That’s success to me.
