Winter Festivities in Grand Rapids

Is the cold weather getting you down? Bundle up, grab your friends and family, and enjoy some of the fun festivities going on right here in Grand Rapids!

1. Winter Fun at Indian Trails

Bundle up and enjoy the outdoors at Indian Trails. With day or season passes, you can enjoy fat tire biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing up to March 1. The clubhouse will have cold beer, hot chocolate and coffee, and a warm fire to relax by.

2. Disney on Ice Celebrate Memories!

Disney on Ice Celebrate Memories brings your favorite Disney stories to life! Sail along with Moana, dance with Woody, Buzz and all the Toy Story friends. Feel inspired when love wins in Frozen and watch dreams come true for Disney Princesses. Bring your family and create memories that will be treasured forever! Eight exciting performances will take place at Van Andel Arena from February 27- March 1. Get your tickets here!

3. Grand Rapids Griffins

Van Andel Arena is home to the Grand Rapids Griffins, American Hockey League affiliates to the Detroit Red Wings. With 38 home games, enjoy a night of fun and hockey! Get your tickets here before the season ends in April.

4. Grand Rapids Drive

If you are more of a basketball fan, enjoy a night watching professional basketball! Grand Rapids Drive is the NBA G league affiliated with the Detroit Pistons. 5. Bottles and Bites

Sample over 75 wines from all over the world in the Downtown Market Greenhouse and Banquet Room while learning all about wine origins, flavor profiles, food pairings, and more! 6. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Step inside a world of pure imagination! Broadway Grand Rapids presents Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Enjoy songs from the original film alongside a new score of toe-tapping songs by the songwriters of Hairspray. Show time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including intermission, and the performance will be held at DeVos Performance Hall from March 10 - March 15. 7. LaughFest Game Night

Enjoy a night of laughs and games at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Game Night is held on March 13 from 6-10 p.m and will feature two comedians at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Visitors will also have access to all 3 floors of the museum to play games, participate in tournaments, explore the TOYS! exhibit, enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer and have a chance to ride on the 1928 Spillman Carousel. 8. Irish on Ionia

St. Patrick's Day is coming up and what better way to celebrate at Michigan's biggest St. Patrick's Day street party! At the event there will be heated tents, live entertainment all day, an Irish inspired street food court, beer tents, Celtic dancers, Bag Pipers, and Irish Circus Troupes. 9. Butterflies Are Blooming

Bring your family to see the beautiful butterfly exhibit at Fredrick Meijer Gardens. The annual Fred and Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming exhibition is the largest temporary butterfly exhibition in the nation. Tropical butterflies from around the world will fly freely around the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory From March 1 - April 30. Children will also be able to enjoy butterfly theme activities.

10. Grand Rapids Symphony- UP

See Disney Pixar's family favorite movie UP like never before- with music preformed live by GR Pops! With three performances, you do not want to miss this show at DeVos Performance Hall. Up is a touching and inspiring movie about a widower who attaches balloons to his house and floats to South America. UP- The Movie with Orchestra runs from March 20-22.
